B- and T-cell epitope mapping of viral proteins

Multiple parallel peptide synthesis has been optimized for the production of thousands of single analytically characterized peptides. The peptides were used for epitope fine mapping of complete viral protein sequences (HIV, hepatitis C, measles, etc.). Localized B-cell epitopes were conjugated with biotin to allow the ELISA diagnostics and with lipopeptide (P3CS) to produce antibodies. The epitope mapping has been supported by conformational mapping using circular dichroism (CD) and conformational predictions. In parallel a complete T-cell epitope mapping (T-helper and CTL) was performed.
